On December 10, 1999, President William "Bill" Clinton made a trip through East Arkansas and stopped at his favorite small town of Earle to accept an eponymous honor and officially open the William Jefferson Clinton Media Center at Earle High School, the only library dedicated in his honor at the time. Earle has been one of the former President's favorite Arkansas towns, having made stops here on numerous occasions to enjoy food, fellowship, and "family". Media and newspaper articles are displayed in the High School Library to commemorate the historic dedication day.
